A look back at 2022

Look back with us below on a highly successful edition of the exhibition! Combining the Expo for Public Space and the Mobility Trade Fair meant that visitors had the opportunity to visit both exhibitions. In total, there were 7,228 visitors and 1,803 exhibitors on the exhibition floor.

Two exhibitions, one goal

There appeared to be a large overlap in interest between the two exhibitions, with visitors free to visit both. Of all visitors, 6,794 professionals attended the Expo for Public Space. The Mobility Trade Fair was visited by 3,759 professionals.

The exhibitions have merged because mobility plays an increasingly prominent role as part of public space. This merging of the two exhibitions was rated positively by 89% of visitors. From 2023 onwards, 'Mobility' will be a category at the Expo for Public Space.

Complete area of interest

Visitors to the Expo for Public Space could indicate which categories of the exhibition they were interested in. Choices included Lighting, Green, Street Furniture, Pavement, Sports, Play & Recreation, Construction & Infrastructure, Advice & Management and Landscape Architecture & Design.

The average visitor ticked four categories. See the chart for the distribution of interest in the various categories during this edition of the exhibition.

Two packed days

The venue Jaarbeurs Utrecht overflowed with craftsmanship and creativity during the two days of the exhibition. For instance, the hundreds of magnificent stands with innovations and novelties. Visitors attended more than 140 lectures, learned all about nature inclusiveness in The Green City and climbed to a higher level at the 'fleeing tiles' in The Square. Inspiration galore!

Nationwide interest in the public sector

Professionals from all over the country travel to the exhibition every year. This year, 80% of all Dutch municipalities were represented. Also present were delegates from all 12 provinces, 5 ministries, 11 district water boards and Rijkswaterstaat.

International attention too

Approximately 150 foreign professionals attended the event. These mainly came from Belgium, Germany and the UK; however, Spain, Norway and Iceland were also represented.
