From sewer monitoring to nature-inclusive construction: the new standard for municipal management

At the *Beurs Openbare Ruimte* (Public Space Trade Fair), we are presenting two innovations that address these issues: the SMART sewer trap and the new 'Building Care & Nature Care' business unit. Together, we demonstrate how technology and nature-inclusive solutions reinforce one another.

The SMART sewer trap represents a breakthrough in modern pest control. Municipalities increasingly require monitoring to be data-driven, safe, and efficient. Through a dedicated project team, streamlined communication, and the use of effective sewer traps, we prevent rats from migrating from the sewer system to the surface.

This trap records activity in real-time, issues automatic notifications, and makes inspections faster and more accurate. It eliminates unnecessary checks, allowing for targeted interventions based on data. For municipalities, this means less nuisance, lower costs, and a management strategy that meets modern requirements (such as the WPG). The SMART sewer trap aligns with the growing demand for smart public spaces and sets a new standard for urban pest prevention.

In addition, we are introducing the new 'Building Care & Nature Care' business unit. This unit pools our expertise in building maintenance, wildlife-friendly features, biodiversity, and sustainable living environments. Municipalities are increasingly dealing with obligations regarding nature-inclusive construction, the protection of urban species, and an integrated approach to buildings and their surroundings (such as the SMP). Building Care & Nature Care offers a single point of contact for:
