**Solutions for public spaces

**Strong trees start with insight into what you cannot see

Prolonged drought, heavy rainfall and changing growing conditions are creating new challenges for public space managers. How do you keep trees safe and healthy? How do you improve the soil around existing planting? And how do you ensure that playground equipment and wooden structures can continue to be used responsibly?

During Vakbeurs Openbare Ruimte at Jaarbeurs Utrecht, Poel will present solutions that help municipalities, landscaping contractors, arborists and other public space managers take a more targeted approach to tree maintenance, soil improvement and playground equipment safety.

**Targeted inspection as the basis for the right decision

A tree or wooden structure may look healthy from the outside while deterioration is present internally. IML wood inspection systems can be used to investigate potential defects and changes in the wood structure in greater detail.

At our stand, we will demonstrate how tools including the Resistograph and PiCUS can be used for tree inspections. The measurement results support professionals in assessing the condition and safety of trees. These solutions can also be used to inspect wooden playground equipment, bridges and other wooden structures in public spaces.

This gives you more information before deciding which next steps are necessary.

**Supporting trees above and below ground

Good tree care does not stop at the trunk and crown. Soil conditions, root development and tree stability also influence how a tree can develop over the long term.

During the trade fair, Poel will present various solutions for every stage of tree management.

**Root ball anchoring

Systems from brands including Duckbill support the underground anchoring of newly planted trees. This keeps the area around the trunk free from above ground tree stakes and fastening materials.

**Crown bracing

Crown bracing systems from brands including Cobra can be used to support vulnerable branches or sections of the crown. The right solution depends on the tree, the location and the purpose of the bracing system.

**Fertilisers and soil improvement

A tree can only make use of water and nutrients when the soil provides the right conditions. With suitable fertilisers and soil improvement products, you can work more specifically on root development, growth and recovery. At the trade fair, we will be happy to discuss the factors that are important when choosing a product or application.

**Solutions for drought stress and water management

Drought stress and water management are playing an increasingly important role in the management of trees and green spaces. Simply providing additional water is not always enough. Soil structure, root development, growing conditions and nutrient availability also influence how a tree develops.

Poel helps you consider these factors together. From diagnostic equipment to solutions for anchoring, soil improvement and maintenance. This helps you choose a solution that suits the location, the tree and the work carried out by your organisation.

**Discuss your situation with our specialists

Every tree, soil type and management location requires its own assessment. That is why we will not only present products at the trade fair, but will focus primarily on how they can be applied.

Are you dealing with drought stress, a complex growing site, a safety issue or uncertainty about the condition of a tree, playground structure or wooden construction? Visit Poel at Vakbeurs Openbare Ruimte. Together, we can look at which inspection or maintenance solution best suits your situation.
