Navigation systems such as Google Maps are not always accurate, especially during roadworks or unexpected events. This can lead to frustration for road users, traffic jams and even dangerous situations.
TripService supports governments and contractors to ensure that navigation is always correct.
Wegstatus.nl and TripService
Wegstatus.nl is a free platform that bundles and visualizes open traffic data in the Benelux. The goal is to increase knowledge about traffic and mobility data, to develop applications and to better inform road users.
TripService, the company behind Wegstatus.nl, plays an important role in enriching the platform data and making it possible to adjust maps.
Map adjustments
During road works, it is essential to inform road users correctly about the current situation on the road. We can contribute to this with our navigation partners by sharing information about road works, closures and lane closures. This ensures that all road users are well and timely informed.
We work together with Waze, Google Maps, TomTom and Apple Maps. We share information about closures and changed roads with these parties, but we can also effectively prevent rat-running.
We have a number of different solutions to pass on this information.
- Traffic Reportal
The Traffic Reportal is a web tool where road closures, destination traffic and road warnings can be entered. This information is shared with navigation systems in real time.
- Map adjustment desk
We have set up a desk where map adjustments can be shared by e-mail. Payment is made per phase or adjustment.
- Framework agreement Map adjustments for governments (and Melvin coupling)
For governments, we offer the option of buying off all map adjustments. We also have a module to couple Melvin with the navigation systems. The price for this is determined by the number of inhabitants of the municipality.

In addition to map adjustments, TripService also offers services for bundling and visualizing traffic data. This allows road managers and other parties to:
- Display live traffic data: Display of current traffic information, such as traffic jams, incidents and road works.
- Analyze historical traffic data: Gain insights into historical traffic patterns to identify and improve bottlenecks.
- Customize maps with your own data: Integrate your own traffic data, such as data from sensors or parking facilities.
